The Colossus of Rhodes was a giant statue of the Greek titan-god of the sun, Helios, that stood in the harbor of the ancient city of Rhodes in Greece. The statue was approximately 33 meters (108 feet) tall and was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Unfortunately, the Colossus of Rhodes was destroyed in an earthquake in 226 BC, so there are no known photographs of the statue in existence. However, there have been numerous artistic depictions and reconstructions of what the statue may have looked like based on historical descriptions and archaeological finds.
These artistic representations often show the Colossus of Rhodes standing with one foot on each side of the harbor entrance, with ships passing underneath it. The statue is often depicted holding a torch in one hand, symbolizing the guiding light of the sun, and a spear in the other hand, representing protection.
While there are no actual photographs of the Colossus of Rhodes, its impressive size and historical significance continue to capture the imaginations of people around the world.
